Across Bradley County

GPS stands for "God’s Plan for Sharing", a national evangelism initiative of Southern Baptists with one simple but yet profound rally cry – "Every Believer Sharing, Every Person Hearing by 2020." GPS will be not be a "program in a box" but a series of grassroots efforts over the next 10 years, the first of which taking shape in 2010/2011. As Tennessee Baptists all over the state embark upon "Across Tennessee", the call is sounding forth for Bradley Baptists to rally behind "Across Bradley County." The goal is to see BBA Churches sending God’s people out of the pews and into the streets. "God’s Plan for Sharing" will have 4 biblical components proven throughout history to bring effective evangelism, revival, and spiritual awakening. They are:

  • Praying – Every church praying for lost people
  • Equipping – Every believer sharing as a trained witness
  • Sowing – Every lost person receiving a witness
  • Harvesting – Every church harvesting & celebrating every salvation response

The Tennessee Baptist Convention and the North American Mission Board have developed some resources, suggestions and ideas for GPS.

How "Across Bradley County Can Work and When"

The concept is for elements of this campaign to take place over a 3-4 month period of time in 2011 from February through May.

  • Equip believers in evangelism, prayerwalking and follow-up/discipleship of new believers
  • BBA Churches prayerwalk their communities Churches distribute hanging bags with two items: 1) a clear presentation of the gospel (“Find It Here” pamphlets) and 2) their church brochure, containing an invitation to Easter Services.
  • Churches should distribute materials in the same strategic area where they have prayerwalked.
  • Harvest Sunday – Easter Services
  • Follow up with those who have responded to your invitation to Jesus
  • Celebrate what God has done among His people
