In Our Jerusalem

There are many opportunities for you to become involved in local missions. Through Ocoee Outreach, Ocoee Resort Ministries, Project Helping Hands, and other Church & Community Ministry projects.

Ocoee Outreach

A ministry that reaches out to needy families in the Cleveland area through home repair. Each summer teams come from all over the Southern United States to do roofing, painting, building wheel chair ramps, and many other home repair projects. They also reach these families with the love of Jesus Christ. Local teams are needed to help. To learn more about Ocoee Outreach, you visit their website.

The above ministry uses salvation bracelets. If your church would like to make some of these bracelets it would be greatly appreciated. Call the office at 423-476-5493 for a pattern and materials list.

Disaster Relief

Teams are trained to work with the TBC when disasters strike throughout our state and country. TBC Disaster Relief teams helped serve thousands of hot meals to workers at the World Trade Center on Sept. 11. They have also helped people all over the country to clean up and rebuild after floods, tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc. We have also begun putting together and distributing Disaster Relief Boxes to local families who suffer home damage or loss as a result of fire, flooding, etc. These boxes help families get back on their feet with everyday household items. If you would like to be trained in disaster relief or would like more information on how your church can sponsor a Disaster Relief Box, please call our office at 423-476-5493.

Project Helping Hands

Helps low income families who are struggling to make ends meet during the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holidays. Volunteers from our churches work various stations during the application process that includes sharing the Gospel and also making home visits to verify and discover needs. One of the beautiful things about PHH is the way it identifies families in need and connects them with churches, companies, groups or individuals who will come along side them to provide basic necessities and a little more. Call Lynda Davis at 423-641-1865 if you would like to help in this ministry.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $54,000 or less, persons with disabilities, the elderly and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals. The program usually starts in late January or early Februrary each year and runs through April. For more information and an appointment, please call our office at 423-476-5493 during those times.
