Dear Friend in Christ,

Many of you know about the horrific accident late December 25 on Route 64 that claimed the lives of Dustin and Brittany Dillard. What many of you may not know is the level of love and commitment the Dillard family has toward seeing people find hope through Jesus. This commitment is far-reaching. All of the Dillard family are faithful members and active at Elkmont Baptist Church. Matt Dillard, the father of Dustin, has been a faithful lay leader at Elkmont over the last two years of transition. Matt and his wife Terri have been loyal supporters of pastors. Also, Matt has been a partner of CrossNet Baptist Network by being personally involved in many of our ministries that impact our community. Matt and his two sons Dustin & Tanner have had a huge impact in our area when tornadoes touched the area, and annually make a difference in many families at Thanksgiving and Christmas through Project Helping Hands. Matt’s single greatest contribution is his leadership on the Ocoee Outreach Board, not only as a Board member but personally getting involved with the students and homeowners by helping on a roof. My phone has hundreds of pictures of Matt showing a young student how to line up a shingle and nail it down. When it looked like Ocoee Outreach was going to have a shortfall financially, Matt always stepped up with oversight and made a sacrificial donation. When Matt retired from Santex a couple of years ago he got more involved as an ambassador for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Every time I look up I am seeing Matt, Dustin, and Tanner doing something for our community and the Body of Christ. I read this morning that Dustin and Brittany recently helped Isaiah 117 House. They along with the three boys recently bought toys, clothing, and other blessings for Isaiah 117 House not wanting anyone to know.

By saying all of the above, I am asking you and your church to support this family in prayer, and to also consider making a financial¬†gift. Also, CrossNet Baptist Network is setting up a Trust for Dustin and Brittany’s three sons, Preston, Pierce, and Pryor. Depending on the amount received, we will use Tennessee Baptist Foundation as the custodian of the Trust. The funds received will be used for education, long-term health care, and any additional expenses. Because of the severity of injuries, the children have a long road to recovery. I am asking you to share this with your church family, and consider taking up a special offering. Designate the checks made out to CrossNet Baptist Network as Dillard Family. We will keep a record of the gifts and share that with the family.
