Paul Davis was born and raised in Cleveland. His parents are Windom and Yonna Davis. He and his family have been members of Westwood Baptist Church since he was five years old. He has been married to his wife, Connie Hobby Davis, for 36 years. He is a graduate of Cleveland High School. He also holds a B.S concentrated in general ministry from Lee University and an MBA with a ministry emphasis from Bryan College. Paul worked 17 years in a corporate job in the paper & packaging industry where he worked in areas of customer service, scheduling, manufacturing, and ultimately sales territory management for the local Cleveland Georgia-Pacific plant as well as the Huntsville Alabama location. He also worked in the real estate industry before he was he was called to join the ministry team at Westwood in 2004.

Prior to coming on to the ministry team at Westwood, he served in many lay capacities in the church. He served as a deacon, adult SS teacher, finance and personnel team member, chaired a building campaign, and chaired the pastor search team after long term pastor Bob Bell’s death in 2001.

When called to full time vocational ministry in 2004 as the Minister of Education at Westwood, Paul led a team of both staff and volunteers which encompassed many areas related to Education and Outreach. He additionally developed and managed education ministry budgets ranging from $150,000-$300,000. His role expanded to the Executive Pastor position in 2009 where he led a staff of 40 in addition to volunteer management, finance and personnel teams leadership. In 2016 Sr. Pastor Steve Smartt updated titles within the Westwood staff, thereby changing Paul’s title to Associate Pastor to reflect more of a shepherding role, which includes administration, leadership, and preaching. Paul has collaborated with all areas of ministry to develop their budget and managed a collective budget of $1.9 million as of 2025.

Paul’s CrossNet involvement has spanned over the last thirteen years where he has served on the Administrative Team multiple times. He also worked along with Phil Taylor and other ad hoc teams with specific responsibilities in personnel, finance, and by-laws.

Paul has also worked with churches in the CrossNet Baptist network to assist in pulpit supply as well as assisting with pastor search teams. He has worked with area churches and most recently the Polk County Association churches who desired to update their by-laws, along with other administrative opportunities.
